In October a series of regional events were held in the north, south and midlands to celebrate the achievements of the short-listed nominees in each area. The events were hosted by local media personalities, and attended by nominees, their nominators and special guests. The regional events are a chance for the short-listed nominees to network and talk about their roles within FE. A selection of winners from the 2008 STAR Awards spoke at the events and local learners from each region entertained guests.
The 2009 STAR Award winners will be announced at a glittering national ceremony on 26 November 2009, at Old Billingsgate, London. The event promises to be night of sparkling entertainment, excitement and emotion as the awards are given.
